Visceral Mobilization
The visceral system relies on the interconnection of movement between all the organs and structures of the body. When one organ cannot move together with its viscera due to abnormal tone or adhesions, it works against the body’s other organs as well as the body’s muscular, fascial and bony structures. This creates fixed, areas of tension that the body is forced to move around. That chronic irritation, can lead to disease and dysfunction.
Visceral mobilization is used to locate and solve problems throughout the body. It will help your body’s own natural mechanisms to improve the functioning of your organs, help mobility of the musculoskeletal system through the connective tissue attachments, and influence general metabolism.
The treatment involves specific placement of gentle pressure to encourage the normal mobility, tone and motion of the viscera and their connective tissues.
